About Me

Hi!  My name is Cristin Young.  I am a 2nd grade teacher at East Ward Elementary School in the Downingtown School District.  This is my third year teaching at East Ward.  Prior to that, I worked at a local charter school at a 2nd/3rd grade looping teacher.  I greatly enjoy teaching and have fun doing it!  I love to see my students engaged in learning and having fun while in school.  I try to motivate my students to work hard, do their best and be positive.  In my classroom we have only 3 rules:  Be Responsible, Be Resourceful, Be Respectful.

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, photography and scrapbooking.  I enjoy eating out at new restaurants with my husband, however also have a few favorites we return to often.  I have two cats, Trinity and Trey, who are partners in crime.  I am currently attending graduate school at West Chester University, where I graduated undergrad with a degree in Elementary Education.  I am one class away from earning my master's degree in Special Education.  I hope to continue on with my secondary education in curriculum design.  Maybe one day I will earn my doctorate!
